Cold, cold January

So yesterday was supposed to be the most depressing day of the year? No money left after Christmas, no holidays in sight, no sunlight, hmm... well how about a nice cheerful picture to represent this particular state of mind!? (And no this picture was not taken as or converted into B&W...)

I was gutted yesterday, the camera was left at home while the view out of my office window was a beautiful blizzard. So many potential shots of snow-covered trees, people running for cover, children pointing and laughing. The only really depressing thing about the day was that the snow didn't lie...

This sure conveys how cold it is!

Yesterday here was horrible as well. I complained all morning and posted a photo to cheer myself up. Pop over to my blog to see it if you're interested. But someone must have been listening because by 2pm the sun was out. I thought it was gone for good.

I know it's dull and depressing, but that is a really beautiful shot. We had about half an hour of wet slushy snow which settled for the evening but had disappeared by morning. The cold temperatures stayed around though!

I'm with Jackie it is a beauty for being such a natural image which you, not the camera chose the composition for.
