Theme day: Sister Cities Edinburgh and Nice

Today's picture is a swap with Nice Daily Photo, because Nice (south of France) is one of Edinburgh's sister cities. Thank you Angela for sending me this photograph of a huge sculpture which is situated in the Jardins Albert 1er, just off the Promenade des Anglais. It's made of black steel and was created by Bernar Venet who donated it to the city of Nice on 14th July 1988. It is 19 metres high and weighs 24 tons, and symbolises the curve of the Baie des Anges.

I guess you don't see too many of those palm trees and clear blue skies in Scotland! Great swap (I liked your floral clock photo on Nice DP too!).

Good morning from Stockholm! We're happy to announce that, as from today you've been unilaterally adopted as our strictly non-official sister city... ;)

Maybe with global warming, a few more palm trees might appear!

Lovely photo from Angela in Nice and so good to see your photograph on Nice. Another successful twinning amongst the CDP family.

The Arc In the Park just has to be seen in the flesh. I have many images from several angles of this myself. I personally was ecstatic to see Nice was twinned with one of the UK'S finest cities. I am a lover of all things French, especailly Nice. Fabulous post today for me and I thought the image you supplied Angela with was a superb floral display.

I'm sorry that I didn't get to your blog yesterday, but since Labor Day is the last day of the MN State Fair, we took our granddaughter there instead of enjoying all the Sister Cities' photos. Good to have cooperation between bloggers!
