I took this photo a couple of days ago from the 11th floor of the David Hume Tower on the University of Edinburgh Campus, looking to the south-west. In the foreground is Buccleuch Place, part of the central University campus, with behind it the Meadows and the residential area of Marchmont (not -d) beyond that.

What a splendid block of houses! Are they all part of the University, now? In the larger view you can see many more houses like these in the distance. So typical of Edinburgh.
Fantastic shot, always found those views so distracting when I had Philosophy tutorials up there...
Great view from that window!
Another wonderful photo. I went to Edinburgh years ago and hope to go back one day.
I'm going to apply for the job as this blogs mierable bugger,
its Marchmont, not Marchmond.
Never noticed the spelling mistake, though miserable Anonymous can't talk!! Great photo though! I used to stay over the Meadows, and remember the David Hume Tower being built!
Sorry Anonymous - am not hiring!
WOW! Cracking shot - I am impressed and in awe... The snow really makes it for me.
Ah, am I getting sentimetnal sitting out here in the San Francisco bay area? Great photo of my old bedroom, 24 Buccleuch Place, top flat. We actually got to rent that house from the University because we sold them ours in Crighton Street just a minute away.
Nice photo. Thanks for posting.
Hope it enlarges enough to set as my background.
