Isn't it blue and green that should never be seen?
possibly - though red and green are complementary colours (opposites on the colour circle) so they make eachother stronger (and make you look like a Christmas tree!)
I love this combination as you've presented it. I don't know of any rules about not combining colors, and sometimes it's the unexpected that keeps our view fresh.
