Peckhams

Peckhams is very much an Edinburgh - and Glasgow - institution. It's a longstanding chain of deli shops with everything you could wish for from a deli and more. This one is in Stockbridge and looking particularly pretty with that 'tuft' of flowers in the corner.

It looks much nicer than the Glasgow ones! The flowers and the purple make such a difference!

It always amused me when I first saw these delis. I used to live and work in south London, where 'Peckham' is the last place in the world you would consider upmarket/middle-class deli-type. It's more synonymous with Del Boy and drive-by shootings, not houmous and poncey herb teas!

Beautiful photos - I'm from Scotland but currently working in Chicago, and came looking for a daily photo site to fill my craving for home - you have succedded. Thanks for making me smile on a dreary day.

This is an inviting place. I love the shade of purple on their facade.
